I am a Toronto-based photographer, specializing in wildlife, scenery and flora. My inspiration comes from the beauty and many faces of nature, whether in subject, texture, colour or mood. My early years were surrounded by beautiful Georgian Bay. The perfect 'fix' for me is being near water, so much to see and hear - the sights and sounds of nature, exhilarating and at the same time, healing to both body and soul.
Life can change in a heartbeat and following several close losses in a short period of time, my life changed dramatically. It was a very strong message and my love of photography that literally got me out the door and living again.
Photography has been my passion since childhood, but only in recent years have I concentrated on developing my self-taught skills. I exhibit and sell my work locally, as well as online and have added a few of my paintings here as well (acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and sumi-e.)
Bluffer's Park in Scarborough, Ontario, has always been one of my favourite places. Over the years, I have seen many changes, but also see an analogy between Bluffers and my life and art ... constantly in a process of growth and change.
I hope you enjoy your visit here as much as I have enjoyed creating these works!
In addition to Fine Art America, I have a shop on Etsy:
as well as my personal website spudsnaps.com
